MOTOR-CAR INDUSTRY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN
The motor-car industry rapidly develops all over the world. The Republic of Tatarstan actively takes over experience from the leading producers, creating new forms of organizing the production and attracting investments to the motor-car construction, extending mutually beneficial cooperation with the enterprises from the regions of Russia, from foreign and CIS countries.
Today cars and trucks, components and spare parts produced in Tatarstan satisfy the inner market of Russia. Within the next three years the production of more than 200 000 of cars and minibuses and more than 80 000 of trucks is planned each year. This planning is determined by the fact that in 2007 Severstal-Avto Open Joint Stock Company on the ground of ZMA Open Joint Stock Company has started the production of Ssang Yong cars. By the end of this year the company also plans to start the production of the Fiat-Ducato minibuses and the full range of the Isuzu cars in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
The Chinese companies are also eager to start the motor-car production in the Republic of Tatarstan.
